For those who have not yet visited Corbu Lake in Constanta, we want to make a brief overview of both the farm and the competition facilities that we have developed here, to support fishing.
Corbu Lake is part of the lakes located on the Black Sea shoreline, has a length of 4.5 km from S to N, pear-shaped, with the neck on the north. It is located at a distance of approx. 8 km from Mamaia Resort, inside the perimeter of Natura 2000 site "ROSPA0060 Lakes Tasaul - Corbu".
The farm has a total area of 450.03 ha and consists of three basins that summarize 448.92 ha of water. The biggest basin, which was arranged as competition venue, is EC2 and has 436.70 ha. The other two basins, EC 3 and EC 4 have 8.27 ha and 3.95 ha. Corbu Lake bottom is natural, mainly sandy, with few gravel and clay.
The main activities carried out in the farm are:
1. Aquaculture of fish species according to the licence;
2. Fish stocking with young fish from our own production and from other specialized fish farms;
3. Supplementary natural feeding during the growth periods (March-September);
4. Fishing for commercial purpose.
The fish production is realized applying the polyculture fish farming technology of indigenous cyprinids with species of plankton-eating fish and other harmonizing species. The programmed technological cycle sets a growth period of 3-4 years for the existing species.
The fish stocking is made during spring and/or autumn, with fish produced in our farm and also from other specialized fish farms.
The species have a good quality since the reproductive fish are very healthy and strong. This young fish produced by us is use for stocking the large basin and the healthy environment and the natural feeding guarantee the superior taste of the fish growth in this lake.
Supplementary feeding during the growth periods is based on natural forages and is prepared in our farm station. This supplement consists of grain flour, molasses, premixes, yeast and minerals and can be considered organic as we don’t use growth hormones or other subtle incentive. Therefore, this explain why the taste of fish meat is excellent compared to similar products, increased intensive, mostly from import.
Commercial fish is sell as fresh fish or is processed in the farm fishery, according to the requirements of ISO 22000:2005 (aquaculture and fisheries) issued by Germanischer Lloyd.
For proper growth of Corbu Lake fauna and flora, we continuously check the water parameters with our devices and regularly make analyzes at authorised laboratories aiming to meet the safety limits.
In terms of fishing facilities made at Corbu, are very much to say. Those who know well the place, know also that before 2012, where the competition venue lies today were nothing arranged and access was almost impossible. All the infrastructure and facilities were made during 2012, in order to host the Carpfishing World Championship.
The competitions organized on this competition venue since last spring have shown that this investment was a good decision, the track is very appreciated by Romanian and foreign anglers.
The competition venue was made along the great basin (EC2) and includes three sectors A, B and C, with 75 standard rings, equipped with wooden bungalow, each with 2 beds, bedside, table, chairs, umbrellas, garbage bin, access by car at the entrance of the ring. On access routes are located houses for referees and ecological toilets and showers. The whole area is fenced and permanent security is ensured. In addition, during competitions, catering services can be provide, at request.
In few words, at Corbu Lake you will find a lot of fish in the lake, high level conditions for anglers, easy access, beaches and resorts at no more than two steps ………… We invite you to check personally!
